Why Pork Is Forbidden In Islam?
Medical Disadvantages:
The Pig is a filthy animal and almost eats everything (Garbage, Faeces, rotten meat, etc.). Besides this, the outer skin of the pigs are very thick and they don’t perspire.
The flesh of the Pig soaks all the toxins like a sponge. And a large number of toxins and worms are inside the flesh of the Pigs. Thus, not all the toxins that get inside into the Pig’s belly come out through Perspiration. The toxins remain inside the Pig’s belly.
When the pigs are slaughtered for human consumption, their meat comes with all kinds of toxins and worms which may lead to many diseases.
Modern medical science has also proved that eating Pork may lead to many diseases like:
- PARALYSIS, ANAEMIA, WEAKNESS AND SKIN PROBLEMS:
Pork contains a special tapeworm “Trichinosis” which cannot be killed even after prolonged cooking on a high flame. Once this worm reaches the Human body and settles there (usually in the small intestine area), it may grow in size and contribute to various skin related problems or may also cause Anaemia and Paralysis. - MUSCLE-PAIN:
The Pork not thoroughly cooked contains various Parasites which upon eating may reach small intestines and many larvae appear which via bloodstream reaches to the tissues of the Human body and develop cysts that may lead to intense Muscle pain. - Increases the chances of Obesity and stomach ulcers.
- Pork also contributes to the Prostate, colon and rectum.
What Does Allah Say About Eating Pork/Pig ?
Apart from the Medical disadvantages which are worst and heart-wrenching, Islam also forbid the consumption of pig as food.
Every commandment of ALLAH (S.W.T.) is for real and necessarily be acted upon by a Muslim. A Muslim should always act on the will of ALLAH (S.W.T.), it is not allowed for the Muslims to act upon their own will by neglecting the commandments of ALLAH (S.W.T.).
Since ALLAH (S.W.T.) has forbidden the Pork for the Muslims, the Muslims are thus not allowed to eat Pork and there is no point to argue over this as ALLAH (S.W.T) is the real GOD for us and we are a slave to Him.
To follow the master is the duty of every slave. And Muslim being Slave to ALLAH (S.W.T.) follows all His commandments without question.
If any Muslim breaks the law and eats Pork, then the Muslim has committed a Haram (illegal) act and the spirituality of him/her will be harmed. Thus, eating pork is the suicide of one’s spirituality achieved after long meditation and prayers.
What Does The Quran Say About Eating Pork/Pig ?
There are two verses in Quran that talks about pigs.
In Surah Al Ma’idah (5:3) and in Surah An-Nahl (16:115)
English Translation (Saheeh International):
Prohibited to you are dead animals, 1 blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah, and [those animals] killed by strangling or by a violent blow or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns, and those from which a wild animal has eaten, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death], and those which are sacrificed on stone altars,2 and [prohibited is] that you seek decision through divining arrows.
That is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of [defeating] your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islām as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Source: Quran
English Translation (Saheeh International):
He has only forbidden to you dead animals,1 blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Source: Quran
